Start with the right device
Lantern has desktop and mobile clients. Check your operating system and version, then read the requirements on the matching download page. If you already use the app, record its version before comparing an update.
Installation compatibility, basic internet access and access to a particular website are separate questions. Checking them in that order makes a problem easier to isolate.
Understand a setting before changing it
Routing settings decide which traffic uses the proxy. If one app cannot connect, record the current mode and target before reading our routing guide. You do not need to enable every option to explore the features.
Save the original setting and test the same website after each change. Record the result before keeping or undoing it; a change in the network can otherwise look like a successful setting change.
Check what your current client offers
Available controls can differ by platform, release and account plan. This guide does not promise identical options on every device or replace the subscription, region and permission information shown in the app.
Read the prompts before using account features. Before purchasing, check the billing channel, renewal period and cancellation process, and keep the receipt.
Keep a small routine
